Title:	Riddle me this,,,

Did I tell you about the UNIX-ish OS I was creating?,,, ASTERIX it's called.
An amateur effort, but I'm an BSc student, so I have an excuse. This
thing still has rather sharp teeth (pardon the metaphor). Like to hear
	more details?

My question :----- What IYHO would be the best way to impliment an 'ALAIS'
controller? Intend it to behave as #DEFINE in C. Take into consideration
I'm after a small, efficient routine that doesn't reqire oodles of
memory for arrays or the routine. Should be able to handle >30 alaises
without hogging bytes (I'm working on a 8 bitter here). I'd like to be
able to easily remove/replace aliases too. Currently intending mapping
a 2K table with 8 bytes/chars for the alias, and 16 bytes for the
replacement string. But I would prefer varible length entries.

Any ideas (no matter how weird) accepted, or any other suggestions for the
	kernal or shell.
